We moved to Europe seeking adventure and a new landscape to build our careers and family. While we love living overseas, starting a life abroad came with its fair share of challenges. For those willing to climb the mountain, living in a foreign country can be incredibly rewarding. Because we have rooted ourselves permanently in Germany, we offer unique, first-hand perspectives on new cultures, communities, and unforgettable experiences.

A Kansas City boy with a passion for cycling, I moved to Germany in 2013 to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. Designing bicycles has brought me around the world, but there’s no place quite like home in the Black forest.

A small town girl with big traveling dreams, I moved to Germany in 2018 after working in higher education to complete my Ph.D. I now use Youtube to encourage others to take the leap of faith and study, work and travel abroad.

Little boy, big personality. Rarely on camera because I move too fast to ever be captured. Lover of fluffy dogs, city busses, pretzels, dragons and my parents.

The old lady of the house and our lovable gentle giant. Contrary to what Jack might think, you probably shouldn’t ride her like a horse.

Goofy, snuggly, and wickedly fast. Master of sneaking onto the couch for daytime naps while Mom and Dad are away. Will be your best friend if you bring hotdogs to the party.
